Being Tootles

| Meet Tootles |
Every morning I awake hidden from site, deep under the blankets forever hopeful to gain those extra precious minutes known to most humans as 'Snooze'. However, if even one digit is exposed out from under the security of this warm bed my attack cat leaps into action. She sets from 3 am at the end of my bed, waiting for any sign of life, like a panther on the hunt always watching.
Why let her in the room? Well I don't she has conveniently mastered the door, making her way into my room, correction our room.
She goes into auto tune, like one of those beautiful cellos you come across at a yard sale, and like the mystical creature she is, meows on queue. Forget my bathroom break until after her routine of walking ahead of me pointing out all her bowls and issues she thinks I can understand. When I do get a sneak off to the bathroom in the middle of her precious ordeal, she finds me and proceeds to give me the glare, you know the one that makes you feel like you forgot her outside in the rain. First stop the water bowl, after that soft food bowl and then milk bowl. No worries, she only gets milk once a week; that was hard for her to even understand.
For days, until she got the new routine down, she waved frantically in front of the refrigerator every morning giving me first the pathetic stare then came the evil star as I desperately tried to avoid the milk setting on the shelf. I really would wait until she was in another room and shut the door so her little butt wouldn't see the cereal bowl. The vet wanted her to slow down on the forever loving 'milky doogle'. I thought she was kidding but at the end of the visit I realized she was serious; so with our ages I guess she will have to cut back as I do at 40.
Tootles has been with my children and I all her life starting at birth, her mother, 'Princess' was adored by my daughter. Who knew back then her offspring would be just as lovable as her mother. Unlike her mother, Tootles loves traveling or maybe it is better said she enjoys 'exploring new territories'.
Tootles was a gift to my son on his 10th birthday, seeing how we could not secure her a good forever home. He chose to call her 'Tootles' because one minute she was there saying hello the next she was gone. He daddy is currently serving overseas while she lives it up in the comforts of her Gram's home; where yes, she thinks she is Queen. Tootles is a permanent member of the our family and she will remain so for many more years to come.
